Artisan Mizugumo Futae P8 Mouse Skates - Universal Dots

Mizugumo is ARTISAN's mouse skate series where they aim to bring skate products with the focus of making mouse glide smoother and more consistent rather than going after mere speed.

Now, Mizugumo is making its comeback with an advanced production method, allowing for greater design flexibility and leveraging years of ARTISAN's expertise in mouse glide science.

Mizugumo: Inspired by the ninja's "water spider" tool for effortless movement.

"Futae," meaning "double" in ancient Japanese, perfectly describes the Futae-P8's unique dual-curved design. 
Unlike traditional flat skates, the Futae-P8 features a subtle curve on its main contact surface, in addition to the standard rounded edges.

The Artisan Mizugumo Futae P8 mouse skates feature smooth, rounded-edge corners, and the double “multi-curve” design—with its gently curved contact surface—ensures stable and smooth gliding.

Crafted from Duracon® POM, this material offers exceptional durability while minimizing changes in slippage over extended use.

However, due to its unique shape, it is not recommended for use on glass mouse pads or other surfaces particularly prone to wear on the mouse sole.

Why the curve?

Your hand applies uneven pressure (downforce) to your mouse, causing it to tilt and compromising glide consistency, especially with conventional flat dot skates. The Futae-P8's curved surface maintains a more uniform contact area, providing exceptional stability, particularly on softer mousepads that deform under pressure.

Material Matters

ARTISAN rigorously tested numerous materials, including PP, Nylon66, and Teflon, before selecting Duracon(r) POM. This high-performance material offers:

- Low friction for effortless glide.
- Superior durability for long-lasting performance.
- A smooth micro-texture, naturally created during skate production.

Some Tips:

The Futae-P8 excels on MID base mousepads. For optimal results on SOFT or XSOFT bases, use as many skates as possible to prevent the mouse's bottom from contacting the mousepad surface.
